LISC Chicago Community Showcase Tour: Humboldt Park - Staking Our Claim

With one the city's most beautiful parks, a vibrant Puerto Rican district, an impressive stock of affordable housing, and abundant social service organizations, Humboldt Park is a proud and thriving neighborhood. The park itself merits exploration of its vast open space, beautiful architectural landmarks, and the city's only inland beach during the summer. Beyond the park, take a walk on the east side of the neighborhood, down Paseo Boricua, to taste authentic Puerto Rican cuisine and admire the many beautiful murals. On the west side, visit the community's emerging businesses, thriving social-service organizations, and innovative affordable housing.
