The Chicago Center for Green Technology is a national model for sustainable design and technology and the first rehabilitated municipal building in the nation to receive the LEED™ Platinum rating by the U.S. Green Building Council. It is the most comprehensive educational resource in the Midwest for green technology and design, and sustainable building and living practices. The Center promotes and advances sustainable homes, workplaces and communities to enhance the quality of urban life through educational programming and training, research and demonstration and by acting as a resource network.
Open to the public six days a week, the Center features rotating exhibits and the Green Tech U Educational Program, which provides an opportunity to meet like-minded people, expand professional networks, and increase knowledge of issues related to sustainability, green building and public policy. Guided tours are available for groups of ten or more. Tours are offered Monday – Saturday at 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM. A minimum of two-weeks advanced registration is required. To obtain a Tour Request Form, please visit www.cityofchicago.org/Environment/GreenTech or call 312.746.9642.
Smaller groups are encouraged to take a self-guided tour during normal business hours. Self-guided tour brochures are available at the front desk.
