Three of the Chicago Cultural Center’s ongoing series present jazz, blues, avant garde and cabaret music. Additional one-time events present a variety of other performers and ensembles. Admission is free.
New Millennium/New Music series showcases avant garde and improvised music by touring artists and local musicians (held occasionally, in Preston Bradley Hall).
Jazz, Blues and Beyond features jazz, blues, gospel, soul and more (held fall through spring on Tuesdays at 12:15 pm in the Randolph Café).
Jazz Institute of Chicago Presents Jazz Links Jam Sessions. This series
gives students the opportunity to meet jazz musicians their age and to perform with world-class professionals in the Jazz Links house band (held monthly fall through spring in the Randolph Café).
The Cultural Center’s new monthly series, Under the Dome, will highlight a different musical genre each month. The series presents Chicago artists of all ages and musical backgrounds – often pairing performers together for the first time – under the magnificent restored Tiffany dome in Preston Bradley Hall.
