15th annual Chicago SummerDance festival has concluded. Chicago SummerDance returns summer 2012.
The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events in partnership with the Chicago Office of Tourism and Culture presents the Chicago SummerDance festival. For eleven weeks each summer, the Spirit of Music Garden in Grant Park blossoms into an urban dance space. The series offers an introductory one-hour dance lesson by professional instructors followed by two hours of live music and dancing on a 4,900 square-foot, open-air dance floor designed by artist Dan Peterman out of 100% recycled materials.
Chicago SummerDance is located in the Spirit of Music Garden in Grant Park, at 601 S. Michigan Avenue. Events occur every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening, from 6 to 9:30 pm and on each Sunday afternoon from 4 to 7 pm, weather permitting.

We encourage all visitors to use public transportation. With stops nearby, CTA buses and trains, and Metra trains provide convenient alternatives to driving. The closest stops include the Red Line "Harrison", Blue Line "LaSalle," Orange, Pink & Brown Line "Library," and Green, Pink, Orange & Brown Line "Adams/Wabash" stops. There are also many Michigan Avenue bus lines that stop just steps from Chicago SummerDance in Grant Park's Spirit of Music Garden.
