Little mortal jump, Resident Choreographer Alejandro Cerrudo's 10th World Premiere for Hubbard Street Dance Chicago in just four years, is a bubbling blend of different styles and genres that distills into a fluid, cohesive whole. Little mortal jump fuses the technicality of movement, the theatricality of the stage and the dark humor inherent in relationships.
The spring program also offers the return of Too Beaucoup, created for and premiered by Hubbard Street in spring 2011. Too Beaucoup is a full-Company work by Israeli choreographer Sharon Eyal and her co-creator Gaï Behar. Back by popular demand, LINES Ballet artistic director Alonzo King’s Following the Subtle Current Upstream rounds out Hubbard Street’s Spring Series. Following the Subtle Current Upstream addresses the subtle currents that exist in the body as the path to liberation.
