Great Performers of Illinois

Great Performers of Illinois is an annual festival in Millennium Park that celebrates best of art and culture in the State of Illinois, presented by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, Bureau of Tourism; the Chicago Office of Tourism; the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and the Illinois Arts Council.

The 4th annual Great Performers of Illinois, which took place July 10-13, 2009, featured over 30 performers of music from all genres, an evening of square-dancing, Abe and Mary Todd Lincoln impersonators roving the park, a life-sized maze made of 6,000 stalks of real corn, a host of other interactive activities for all ages, and two special programs at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion: Dennis DeYoung performing the Music of Styx, and SHELebration, a tribute to the life and work of Chicago's famed writer and artist, Shel Silverstein.
