Green Music Fest draws thousands of people to Chicago Avenue in West Town’s Eckhart Park neighborhood to enjoy high quality music and discover new ways to go “green.” The event is coordinated by the West Town Chicago Chamber of Commerce (WTCCC), thus the emphasis is on local offerings and talent, and proceeds benefit the local community. Vendors will include neighborhood retailers and restaurants, local fine artists and crafters; plus the featured GREEN VENDOR VILLAGE with vendors that provide environmentally friendly or eco-conscious products and services.
The Chicago Center for Green Technology is sponsoring the Green Vendor Village section of the event, and with their support we anticipate there to be over 60 green vendors and sponsors featured. The event will also be produced in the most eco-friendly way possible with bio-diesel fuel operated generators, biodegradable plastic cups, recycling and composting options, no plastic bottles, bike parking, etc…
The green technology themed event reflects the globally conscious, eclectic and hip West Town community, plus the event will feature cutting edge live music. There is something for everyone at Green Music Fest. Excellent live music, green technology vendors, plus family friendly activities and programming.
The 2010 live music line up at Green Music Fest will be programmed by local live music venue Subterranean. The talent buyers at Subterranean have an extremely hip and cutting edge reputation in Chicago’s live music scene, and have a proven track record booking successful special events;
Subterranean also books music at the well regarded Wicker Park Fest and one stage at Do-Division Street Fest.
