Sawbuck

Sawbuck began with Kevin Sullivan, an acoustic guitar, and a $10 microphone. With these simple tools Sullivan produced a short demo of original material plus his interpretation of an old John Prine joint for friends and family, but it also attracted the attention of guitarist Charlie Wayne. Wayne and Sullivan got together to see if they could sow the seeds of a rock band. After working through the songs on Sullivan's demo, and happy with the potential evidenced therein, Wayne brought in his old friend, the bass player Joey Goldfish. The Goldfish, in turn, found drummer Danny Hands, and Sawbuck had a functioning rhythm section. The songs came together quickly, but the band felt there was something missing. They found that missing piece when Miss Brennan Pierce joined on violin and vocals. Bren's eventual departure gave way to the appearance of Katie Andrick, a talented, Gypsy-Jazz Violin player, well versed in the phrasings of Roots Music.
