In the Works: TUTA Theatre Chicago's Fulton Street Sessions

Returning for a third season to Millennium Park is the theater lab series, In The Works, where audiences have a chance to sit on the stage of the Jay Pritzker Pavilion to experience works in development by local theater artists.

 

The 2011-2012 season, supported by a grant from The Boeing Company, continues with TUTA Theatre Chicago's production, Fulton Street Sessions, January 12—14, 2012 at 7:30 PM.

Presented by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, in partnership with the Chicago Office of Tourism and Culture, and TUTA Theatre Chicago, Fulton Street Sessions is a cabaret-style production complete with sketches, musical numbers, and interludes, which reflect national and local news bulletins, social, cultural and political gossip.

Following the reading, there will be a conversation with TUTA Theatre Chicago artists.

 

TUTA Theatre Chicago excites audiences with theater that is both relevant and challenging in both form and content. TUTA continually searches for the unique and exceptional in the language of theater, be it verbal, physical, or visual, in order to express ideas and expose questions vital to contemporary American society. TUTA is committed to producing theatrical and educational events that bridge all forms of cultural and geographical divides.

Following the three In the Works performances in Millennium Park, Fulton Street Sessions will have its world premiere at Chicago Dramatists, 1105 W. Chicago Avenue, from February 23 through March 25, 2012. A one-night-only work-in-progress preview can be seen at TUTA, 2032 W. Fulton Avenue on December 12, 2011.


Directions
Patrons may be dropped off at the Millennium Park Welcome Center, located at 201 E. Randolph, next door to the Harris Theater. Walk south along the sidewalk following the directional signs to arrive at the main entrance on the upper west side of the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. An attendant will be stationed at the door and the Ticket Office will be located just inside.
