Washington Square Park

Washington Square Park is a historic landmark founded in 1842 as a park that would give people of all walks of life an equal chance to share their ideas. Due to its reputation as one of the most well known free speech centers in the nation, the park hosted Chicago's first annual gay pride parade in 1970.
