The Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago, named “Chicago’s Best Dance Theatre” by Chicago magazine, is the city’s leading presenter of contemporary dance, showcasing artists of regional, national and international significance. For the 2008–09 season, The Dance Center will present a world premiere by David Dorfman Dance Sept. 25-28, the Iranian-American dance company NAMAH Oct. 16-18, the legendary Trisha Brown Dance Company Oct. 23-25, Japan Dance Now showcasing three emerging Japanese dance companies Feb. 5-7, Chicago's The Seldoms Feb. 19-21, Chicago's Mordine & Company Dance Theater celebrating its 40th anniversary Feb. 26-28, a Chicago premiere by David Rousseve/REALITY March 12-14 and the Chicago debut of Mexico's Delfos Danza Contemporanea April 2-4. The Dance Center’s FamilyDance Matinee Series continues for its 10th Anniversary Season, featuring special one-hour family-oriented performances preceded by free parent/child movement workshops with the artists. FamilyDance Matinees will be presented by NAMAH (October 18), The Seldoms (February 21), Mordine & Company Dance Theater (February 28) and Delfos Danza Contemporanea (April 4).
