Events at the Spertus Institute
Located in Chicago’s South Loop since 1924, Spertus Institute of Jewish Studies invites visitors of all ages and backgrounds to explore the multifaceted Jewish experience. A yearly schedule of public programs includes exhibitions, concerts, film, lectures, comedy and theater.
Spertus Museum
Through innovative exhibitions, commissions, and programming, Spertus Museum examines Jewish identity and the Jewish experience, exploring the powerful and reciprocal relationship between Jewish and broader culture.
Spertus College and Asher Library
The Institute’s Spertus College and Asher Library serve scholarly and casual learners, on-site and via distance learning, through programs, educational opportunities and cultural offerings that enhance understanding of the Jewish experience.
Bold new architecture
The bold new 155,000-square-foot building designed by the award-winning Krueck & Sexton Architects provides enhanced features to better serve visitors and students.
In addition, the building features the new 400-seat Feinberg Theater, a sophisticated performance space to showcase lectures, concerts, theater, and film; and an interactive Children’s Center.
