Old Irving Park

This historic neighborhood, sometimes referred to as "a suburb within a city" was built on former farmland beginning in the 1870s. The area stretching from Addison on the south to Montrose on the north, and from Pulaski on the east to the Milwaukee Road railroad on the west (approximately Kilbourn/Kolmar), contains much architectural diversity. Visit the original John Gray Farmhouse, at 4016 W. Belle Plaine Ave., and Schurz High School, at 3601 N. Milwaukee Ave.
