New Checkerboard Lounge for Blues 'n' Jazz

Newly re-opened and re-located, The New Checkerboard Lounge for Blues 'n' Jazz is bound to continue their famous history. Performers such as Prince and Keith Richards used to jam at the old location. There is live music everyday that caters to the mix of university students and locals.

This jazz and blues club is now located in Hyde Park's Harper Court mall in a much larger space than the original, which was forced to close in 2003. The new location keeps the spirit of the Bronzeville spot, however, by featuring a photo of the legendary moment when Muddy Waters and the Rolling Stones shared the stage.

Enjoy a cold beverage and enjoy the live music every day for a mix of university and neighborhood locals.
