Housed in a 1917 mansion overlooking Lake Michigan, the International Museum of Surgical Science (IMSS) is home to a diverse collection of artifacts and artwork spanning the history and advancement of medicine and surgery.
Founded in 1954 as a division of the International College of Surgeons, IMSS continues to strive to uphold its mission: to enrich people's lives by enhancing their appreciation and understanding of the history, development, and advances of surgery and related subjects in health and medicine.
