The Gene Siskel Film Center of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago celebrates over 35 years of presenting cutting edge programs, independent and international cinema, premieres, retrospectives, and classic films.
A unique downtown venue, the Gene Siskel Film Center has over 1,500 screenings and 100 visiting filmmakers annually. Its gallery/cafe features film-related and multimedia exhibitions and offers favorite movie concessions such as popcorn, candy, and sodas, as well as wine, beer, coffee, and tea.
The Gene Siskel Film Center presents four annual festivals: European Union Film Festival, Asian American Showcase, Black Harvest International Festival of Film and Video, and Festival of Films from Iran. Also part of the programming is an engaging, bi-annual film/lecture series and Oscar Night America, Chicago's official Academy Awards party.
