The Chicago Riverwalk is a great place to enjoy Chicago, its history and its magnificent architecture. The Riverwalk features public walkways and seating areas along the water's edge, where visitors can enjoy incredible views of the loop's canyon of skyscrapers, while watching the boats go by.
The Riverwalk also features attractions such as cafes, boat cruises, water taxis, bike rentals and tours, and crafts made by local artisans. The Chicago Riverwalk runs along the south bank of the Chicago River, from Lake Shore Drive to Franklin Street.
Museums and Memorials
Wabash Plaza provides a peaceful place for visitors to gather and watch the river, or to visit the Vietnam Veterans Memorial that is the centerpiece of the plaza. The McCormick Tribune Bridgehouse and Chicago River Museum at Michigan Avenue offers a rare view of the inner workings of Chicago's bridges, and information on the history of the Chicago River.
Cafes and Restaurants
Cafes include: Babette's Liquid Assets, Cyrano's Cafe and Wine Bar on the Riverwalk, Diosa Sushi and Grill, Lagniappe Cajun Creole Joynt, O'Briens Riverwalk Cafe, Robinson's Ribs and Summer Chill.
Boat and Bike Tours
Boat tours and water taxis are provided by Chicago's First Lady, Mercury, Shoreline Sightseeing and Wendella. Bike rentals and tours are provided by Bike Chicago. Crafts are sold on weekends by Women-Eye.
