The Chicago Park District's goal is to provide the people of Chicago the opportunity for recreation and to enjoy outdoor open space for themselves and their families. The Park District also recognizes that dogs are important family members and value the need to provide a space for recreation for them as well. Wiggly Field Dog Friendly Area is a .41 acre site and occupies Noethling Park. The park is located on the east side of Sheffield at Schubert Ave. This park is the very first Dog Friendly Area developed by the Chicago Park District in 1998. All Chicago Park District Dog Friendly Areas are managed by members of the community. The Administrator of Cook County’s Department of Animal and Rabies Control has required that the Park District issue permits for all off-lease dogs using Dog Friendly Areas. The owner or other responsible person bringing any dog into a DFA must have a permit and tag issued by a participating veterinarian for each dog. A list of the participating veterinarians, as well as other dog friendly area information, can be found on the Chicago Park District’s website at www.chicagoparkdistrict.com.
