Morbid Curiosity > Threadless Design Contest
Curatorial Statements
Threadless is the Chicago-based company that prints t-shirts designed by local artists and selected by its patrons. In a collaboration with the Chicago Cultural Center, Threadless challenged its community of independent artists to create a design inspired by the Morbid Curiosity exhibition.
Congratulations to Matheus Lopes of Brazil!
Matheus is the chosen designer of the international “Threadless Loves Death” challenge, co-sponsored by Threadless and the Chicago Cultural Center. Matheus’ t-shirt design, “Natureza Morta,” was rated the best of 452 entries.

The challenge:
Design a t-shirt inspired by “Morbid Curiosity: The Richard Harris Collection.”
The requirement:
Eligible designs must include a skull—a central focus of the Richard Harris Collection—represented in some form.
So, want to take one home?
T-shirts featuring the winning design will soon be available for purchase in The Shop at the Chicago Cultural Center. Please inquire at The Shop for details.
