Chicago SummerDance - FAQ

Q: How can I perform at SummerDance?
A: Send a press kit (demo CD, digital photos, bio(s), press clippings and a list of past and/or upcoming performances) to "Public Programs Music Submission/SummerDance," Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington St., Chicago, IL 60602. The genre of music or type of dance instruction to be performed should be indicated on the outside of the envelope. Performers are booked 3 to 6 months in advance. No phone inquiries please.

Q: Why isn't a certain style of music or dance represented this year at SummerDance?
A: SummerDance strives to bring new and exciting dance styles and music to Chicago each year. While there are many "favorites" that return each summer, we aim to keep it fresh and highlight artists that might not yet have a Chicago following.

Q: Will the SummerDance DJ Series return?
A: The former Wednesday night SummerDance DJ series, which was held from 2004-2006, will not return.

Q: I have a specific comment/question/complaint about SummerDance, who should I contact?
A: Please e-mail your comments/questions to culture@cityofchicago.org

Q: How do I find out if an event has been cancelled?
A: Call the SummerDance hotline at 312.742.4007 for updates.
