How to Apply to Perform at the 2009 MOSE Music Festivals

Every year the Mayor’s Office of Special Events accepts music submissions (bio, tapes, cds, photos, etc.) for consideration for the Chicago Gospel Music Festival, Chicago Blues Festival, Taste of Chicago, Chicago Country Music Festival, Viva! Chicago Latin Music Festival, Chicago Jazz Festival and Celtic Fest Chicago. The festivals are located in Grant Park (between Jackson Boulevard and Columbus Drive) except the Chicago Gospel Music Festival which is located in Millennium Park. The location of the 2009 Country Music Festival is tentative. All festival dates are subject to change.

All music submissions must be received by the dates listed below, and must be sent to the attention listed below at the following address and please make sure the name of the event you are applying for is on the envelope.

• Chicago Gospel Music Festival (June 6-7, 2009)
  All unsolicited music submissions must be submitted between September 8, 2008 to January 30, 2009 to be considered for the 2009 Chicago Gospel Music Festival.

• Chicago Blues Festival (June 12-14, 2009)
  All unsolicited music submissions must be submitted between September 1 to October 13, 2008 to be considered for the 2009 Chicago Blues Festival.

• Taste of Chicago Taste Stage (June 26-July 5, 2009)
  Accepting EPK submissions from Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana bands only for consideration to perform on the Taste Stage.

• ¡Viva! Chicago Latin Music Festival (August 29 & 30, 2009)
  All unsolicited music submissions must be submitted between September 1, 2008 to February 27, 2009 to be considered for the 2009 Viva! Chicago Latin Music Festival.

• Chicago Jazz Festival (September 4-6, 2009)
  All unsolicited music submissions must be submitted between October 1 to December 31, 2008 to be considered for the 2009 Chicago Jazz Festival.

• Celtic Fest Chicago (September 12 & 13, 2009)
  All unsolicited music submissions must be submitted between November 3, 2008 to March 17, 2009 to be considered for the 2009 Celtic Fest Chicago.

• Chicago Country Music Festival (October 3 & 4, 2009, Location TBD)
  All unsolicited music submissions must be submitted between December 1, 2008 to April 1, 2009 to be considered for the 2009 Chicago Country Music Festival.
