Overview of the Taste of Chicago with skyline in the backgroundThe Mayor's Office of Special Events (MOSE) provides Chicagoans and visitors with year-round family style entertainment, by producing and promoting free festivals and city-wide holiday celebrations. Major downtown festivals such as Taste of Chicago, the Air and Water Show, the Chicago Jazz Festival and six music festivals draw millions of people each year to the lakefront, contributing significantly to tourism and economic development for Chicago. MOSE assists communities city-wide by facilitation of over a dozen ethnic parades and bringing the Jumping Jack to every ward in Chicago. The Chicago Film Office promotes the city as a nationally sought-after film location and coordinates city services needed for production and post-production. The Office of Protocol responsible for managing and coordinating events for the Mayor's Office including local community affairs, cultural celebratory receptions, city council meetings, military ceremonies and local corporate events. The Sports Development Office produces healthful sporting programs for the public and promotes Chicago as a site for amateur, collegiate, and Olympic tournaments.
