Glessner House Museum is not only another museum and neighbor in the Prairie Avenue Historic District, but is also a program partner for the Clarke House. The two museums co-sponsor holiday events, and the staff of Glessner House administers the docents and conducts public and group tours of Clarke House.

The NSCDA-IL has been involved in the Clarke House for over 20 years. The organization has been a generous supporter over the years, funding programs, as well as the collection of period furnishing in the house. Headquartered in Washington D.C., The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America is dedicated to furthering an appreciation of our national heritage through historic preservation, patriotic service, and educational projects. The NSCDA is involved in nearly 100 historic homes across the country.

Historic Homes of Illinois

The purpose of the Historic Homes of Illinois Coalition is to encourage people to visit the interesting and varied historic homes within Illinois. The group includes museum/homes, B&B’s, and state owned sites. The Coalition determined that working together would benefit all by promoting tourism in Illinois. To that end, all the participating sites work together to send visitors to other historic homes. Suggested tours have also been developed to help visitors plan trips including as many homes as possible.
