A. Philip Randolph Pullman Porter Museum

Founded by Lyn Hughes in 1995, the APRPP Museum is the first African American labor history museum in the nation. It pays tribute to A. Philip Randolph, one of the most influential African-American leaders in history, and the Pullman Paters, an African-American railroad union.

In addition to donating the Clarence Buckingham Memorial Fountain, philanthropist and art patron Kate Sturges Buckingham (1858 – 1937) commissioned a monument to the Alexander Hamilton (1757 – 1804) whom she considered β€œone of the least appreciated great Americans.”

Donated by a Chicago brewer of German descent, Francis Dewes (1845 - 1941), this artwork was produced by German sculptor Felix Gorling. It honors the park's namesake, Alexander von Humboldt (1769-1859), a naturalist and explorer from the Kingdom of Prussia, an area that is now northern Germany.
