Lane

Lane

Tap dancer, founder and director of Chicago Human Rhythm Project; 48; Chicago resident for 25 years; lives in Lakeview

What neighborhood do you live in?
I’m fortunate to live at Montrose and Clarendon - just west of Lake Shore Drive - on the 21st floor with an unobstructed view of parks, Montrose Harbor and THE LAKE! It’s all about the water and the sunrise. Like most Chicagoans, I work long hours and feel extremely fortunate to have this great view to remind me constantly of how lucky I am to live in Chicago.

What is your favorite thing about Chicago?
The lake, the culture and the pace.

What is your favorite restaurant?
Ta Tong

Favorite pizza place?
Panino’s

Favorite summertime activity?
Tap Dancing...we host the largest tap festival in the world every summer so my summers are packed with rhythm and dance.

Favorite Chicago tradition?
It’s a toss up – either the annual Thanksgiving Day Parade  or the Parade of Lights on North Michigan Avenue.

Where can you find the best view of the Chicago skyline?
Driving north on Lake Shore Drive just south of Roosevelt Road.

Favorite hidden spot?
That’s a secret . . . . I’ll tell if I have to….OK, it’s Ping Tom Park in Chinatown – the pagodas, the Chicago River - it’s very quiet and peaceful.
