Sports and Recreation Paradise
Whether you are a spectator, a participant, or both, Chicago is a great town for sports enthusiasts. The city is home to seven professional sports teams, along with historic sporting venues (including Wrigley Field and Soldier Field) that have hosted many outstanding athletes over the years.
On the recreation side, the 18-mile lakefront path is a mecca for cyclists and runners. Along the way you'll see some of our 33 beaches, plus tennis courts, athletic fields and one of the eight Chicago Park District golf courses. In-line skating, ice skating, miniature golf, bowling and every other type of recreational activity are readily available in Chicago.
