City of Chicago Now Accepting Applicants for
The Chicago Fashion Incubator at Macy’s on State Street

WHAT:
The Department of Cultural Affairs is accepting applications from Chicago-area emerging fashion designers to participate in The Chicago Fashion Incubator at Macy’s on State Street.
This fashion incubator will provide six emerging designers who have completed at least one capsule collection the opportunity to learn the business of fashion, marketing and merchandising of fashion from experts in the business, including Macy’s merchant team and other industry and business leaders in Chicago. The selected designers will be offered sample production, showroom, and office space at Macy’s on State Street store for one year beginning March 2010. In addition, the incubator will provide space for workshops and seminars for the local fashion community at large.
This program is a unique partnership between the City of Chicago, Macy’s, and the greater fashion and business community to give Chicago-based fashion designers the resources needed to launch a career in fashion.

Late December 2009: The 2010 Chicago Fashion Incubator designers will be announced.
The Chicago Fashion Incubator at Macy’s on State Street is part of Fashion Focus Chicago.
