With the Chicago Green Restaurant Co-op's new Guaranteed Green distinction, visitors and residents now have a way to easily find green dining options in Chicago.

Guaranteed Green Dining in Chicago

Restaurants that display the Guaranteed Green decal in their window are guaranteed to be certified by either the Green Restaurant Association or Green Seal, two independent, national non-profits that have comprehensive environmental standards for restaurants.

In order to earn certification in either program, a restaurant must meet environmental standards in the areas of sustainable purchasing for food, cleaning products, food serviceware and furnishings, as well as management of energy, water, waste and air quality.

By choosing a Guaranteed Green restaurant, Chicago diners will be able to dine with the confidence that the restaurant they have chosen isn’t "greenwashing," and isn’t just claiming to be green, it can prove it. Just look out for the green fork logo!
