Professional kite flyers demonstrate their control over large kites filling the skies over Lincoln Park.

Kids and Kites Festival

A day of play in Lincoln Park awaits at the Chicago Kids and Kites Festival. Free kite kits provided to kids to make, decorate and fly while they last. The Festival also includes plenty of activities, strolling entertainment and the fantastical visual displays created by the giant kites flown professional kite flyers demonstrating their skills.

2012 NATO Summit Updates

The Art Institute, Shedd Aquarium, Adler Planetarium, and Field Museum will be closed one or more days between May 19 - 21 due to the 2012 NATO Summit taking place in Chicago.  Stay up to date on these and other cultural attractions affected this weekend.

The largest retrospective exhibition of the Pop art giant opens May 22 at the Art Institute of Chicago. See over 160 works, including never-before-seen drawings, sculptures and paintings that are as revolutionary today as they were 50 years ago.

Memorial Day Parade

Chicago remembers and honors the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country’s freedoms with a Parade on May 26 on State Street. Parade includes floats, marching bands, JROTC and veterans honoring soldiers returning from the IRAQ War.
